Safeguarding & Governance
Keeping people safe is at the heart of everything we do. We run honest, low-pressure sessions in Coventry, and we take our duty of care seriously, from the venues we choose to the way we respond to concerns.
How we keep people safe
Every session is built around respect, inclusion and clear boundaries. These are the safeguarding principles that guide our work.
Safe spaces
We choose public, accessible venues and carry out risk assessments for activities. Sessions are welcoming, but never chaotic.
Trained volunteers
Our team members are DBS-checked and follow clear guidance on behaviour, confidentiality and how to respond if someone needs help.
Clear boundaries
We are not a clinical service. We signpost to professional support when it is needed and do not offer medical or crisis advice.
Open communication
We encourage anyone who comes along to tell us if something feels wrong. Concerns are taken seriously and handled with discretion.
Written policies
Our policies cover safeguarding, privacy, equal opportunities, community behaviour and environmental responsibility. They are reviewed as the community grows.
Easy to contact
There is always a clear safeguarding contact. If you are worried about yourself or someone else, you can reach us quickly.
Report a concern
If you see or experience something that worries you at one of our sessions, online or in conversation with a volunteer, please let us know. You can also contact us if you are concerned about someone else.
